Connect WhatsApp or SMS and send a campaign

EnglishUpdated Sep 13, 2026

Messaging Settings connects the workshop to a supported message provider. Announcements prepares campaigns for a selected audience. A WhatsApp Business app installed on a phone is not, by itself, a configured SAM messaging connection.

Connect a provider

  1. Open Configuration → Messaging Settings.
  2. Select WhatsApp or SMS and use Add WhatsApp Account or Add SMS Account.
  3. Choose the provider and enter the fields requested for that provider.
  4. Check the sending number, account label and any country or message-template settings shown.
  5. Save the configuration and use its test-send action with a number you control.
  6. Read the result, verify receipt and activate the account when ready.

The screen supports WhatsApp providers such as Meta, Twilio and 360dialog, and SMS provider choices including Twilio, Vonage, ClickSend and a custom gateway. Use the values from the provider account approved for your workshop. Test sends are real messages and may be charged by the provider.

Send an announcement campaign

  1. Open Workshop → Announcements → Add Campaign.
  2. Enter Campaign Title, Email Subject where relevant, and Message.
  3. Choose Channel and Target Audience.
  4. Check the recipient preview and Save the draft.
  5. Review the saved campaign, then use Send Campaign only when the audience and content are correct.

Preparing a campaign and sending it require separate permissions. The plan must also allow the feature. Only draft campaigns can be sent.

What happens next

The campaign is queued for recipients with a usable contact method. The actual count can differ from the audience preview if some recipients lack the selected channel. Queued or sent-to-provider is not proof that every customer read it.

Troubleshooting

If no recipients match, check the audience and channel. If a tracking or approval action only copies a link, send that link manually in the existing customer conversation. Check provider settings rather than repeatedly sending the same campaign.
