Connect workshop email and review message templates

EnglishUpdated Sep 13, 2026

Email Settings separates the sending connection from the wording of messages. Configuring the sender requires messaging-configuration access; editing templates requires email-template management access.

Connect an email account

  1. Open Configuration → Email Settings → Mail Driver.
  2. Select Add Mail Driver and choose the supported sending method used by your provider.
  3. Enter the requested provider details. For a mail-server connection, these include Host, Port, Username, password and the offered encryption setting.
  4. Enter From Address and From Name. Use an address your provider permits you to send from.
  5. Save the connection.
  6. For an SMTP connection, use Check connection. This checks connectivity and sign-in without sending an email.
  7. Use Send test email with an address you control and verify receipt.
  8. Use Activate when the tested connection should be used for workshop email.

Saved passwords and provider keys are shown as configured, not revealed in full. Leave them unchanged when editing unrelated fields. Use the explicit clearing controls only when you intend to remove a saved secret.

Review templates and delivery

Open Templates, choose the relevant message, and review its subject, content and preview. Keep the supplied placeholders intact so customer and document details can be inserted. The Layout tab controls shared email presentation; its editor is advanced, so ask your administrator for help if you are not familiar with the format.

Use a test email after changes. Open Send Logs and filter by recipient, template or status to investigate sending problems.

What happens next

Eligible workshop events use the active sending connection and enabled templates. A record can save even if its email later fails, so do not repeat the business transaction merely to resend a notification.

Troubleshooting

Check sender permission, credentials, host, port and provider restrictions. Connection success does not guarantee inbox placement: inspect the recipient's spam folder and the send log. Never include passwords or provider keys in a support screenshot.
