Import labour tasks and export workshop data
EnglishUpdated Sep 13, 2026
SAM supports a labour-task spreadsheet import and exports on supported lists and reports. An export creates a file; an import creates catalogue records.
Prepare a labour-task spreadsheet
Use XLSX, XLS or CSV, no larger than 5 MB. Put these headings in the first row exactly as shown by Import Labor Tasks:
task_code— A unique task code.task_name— The customer-friendly task name.normal_rate— A non-negative normal rate.warranty_rate— The warranty rate.task_hour— Estimated hours.
Use one task per row. Existing task codes are skipped rather than overwritten. Check for duplicate codes within the file too.
Import the file
- Open Workshop → Labour Tasks and its import action.
- Read the headings shown in Import Labor Tasks.
- Use Choose file…, select the prepared spreadsheet and run the import.
- Review the imported/skipped summary and any row errors.
- Search the catalogue for representative tasks and check their rates and hours.
Valid rows can import even when other rows fail. Correct the rejected rows and review the resulting catalogue before repeating the import. The action requires labour-task management access.
Export a list or report
- Open the required list or report and set its search, date and status filters.
- Use the available export control and select one of the offered formats, such as PDF, Excel or CSV.
- Open the downloaded file and confirm the period, columns and totals before sharing it.
Available formats depend on the screen. Do not assume a single-page view means the export contains only that page. Export permissions and cost/payroll restrictions still apply.
Backup versus export
Company Settings → Download a backup produces a broader copy of records and uploaded files. Keep that ZIP under business control. A report export is a selected view and is not a complete restore-ready workshop backup.
