Create reusable labour tasks and rates
EnglishUpdated Sep 13, 2026
Labour Tasks is your catalogue of repeatable work, such as an inspection or a component replacement. Advisors can add these tasks to job orders instead of retyping them each time.
Add a task
- Open Workshop → Labour Tasks.
- Search the catalogue, then select Add Labour Task if the task does not already exist.
- Enter a unique Task Code and a clear Task Name.
- Add a Description, Category, Source and Type where useful.
- Set Estimated Hours, Normal Rate and Warranty Rate. Required rates must be zero or greater.
- Set Active appropriately and select Save.
Use names that explain the work to both staff and customers. Estimated hours describe the planned time; they are not evidence that a technician has already performed the task.
Maintain the catalogue
Use the edit action to change a task's current defaults. Review prices on an existing quote or job separately—do not assume changing the catalogue retrospectively changes earlier documents.
The catalogue also supports managing task categories, sources and types. These organise your choices; keep their meanings consistent across the workshop. Use the import workflow for a prepared spreadsheet of tasks.
What happens next
The task becomes available to authorised advisors when building job orders and templates. A task added to a job still needs the correct hours, rate, assignment and approval for that visit.
Troubleshooting
A duplicate Task Code prevents creation. If a task is missing from a picker, check its active state and your access. Do not delete a heavily used catalogue entry simply to rename it; use the edit action and review historical reporting implications.
