See which vehicles occupy your workshop bays

EnglishUpdated Sep 13, 2026

The Bay Board shows where vehicles are on the workshop floor. A bay assignment records location; it does not itself complete, invoice or close the vehicle's work order.

Set up bays

  1. Open Workshop → Bay Board.
  2. Use Add First Bay or Add Bay if you have bay-management permission.
  3. Enter a unique Bay Name, choose Bay Type, add any Notes, then select Save Bay.

The bay type affects the time-limit indicator. Choose the real use of the bay rather than a type that makes its warning disappear.

Assign and release a vehicle

  1. On an available bay, use Assign.
  2. Select the work order for the vehicle physically entering that bay.
  3. Check the board after saving, particularly when another staff member is also moving vehicles.
  4. Use Assign technician if the appropriate person should be added to the active work order's tasks.
  5. When the vehicle leaves, use Release and confirm Empty bay.

Check the destination before moving a vehicle. Release an occupied target deliberately rather than assuming a move will preserve its existing occupant.

Read the indicators

The card colour represents work-order status. Time badges and borders show how long the vehicle has occupied its bay: warnings begin near the bay's limit and escalate after it. Utilisation counts occupied bays, including a finished vehicle waiting for collection.

Use Fullscreen — for a wall display for a workshop monitor. The board can receive live updates and also supports periodic refresh. Use Refresh now if needed.

What happens next

Releasing a bay frees its floor position. The work order remains available with its existing repair and billing information.
