Configure inspection templates and checkpoints
EnglishUpdated Sep 13, 2026
Inspection templates define what technicians check. Different templates can suit a quick service check and a detailed paid inspection.
Create or edit a template
- Open Configuration → Inspection Templates.
- Select Add template, or use Edit on an existing one.
- Enter Name and Description.
- Use Add section to group related checks.
- Use Add checkpoint within each section. Define the check and any supported reading, unit or threshold details.
- Select Default template if this should be the starting choice for new inspections.
- Review the order and wording, then select Save.
The template needs a name and at least one useful checkpoint. Keep wording specific enough that two technicians understand the same check in the same way. A suggested verdict based on a reading still needs professional review.
Change a template safely
Editing creates a new template version. Existing inspections retain the version and recorded findings associated with them; changing a template is not a way to correct an already completed inspection.
A template that has been used for an inspection cannot be deleted. Deactivate it instead when it should no longer be offered for new work.
What happens next
Technicians choose the appropriate checklist when using Start inspection on a work order. The configured default is offered for new inspections. Completed findings can be shared and flagged items can become an estimate.
Troubleshooting
If technicians see “No inspection template is set up yet,” check that there is an active default. If a new checkpoint does not appear in an older inspection, start a new inspection rather than expecting the historical record to change.
