Record a vehicle inspection and photos

EnglishUpdated Sep 13, 2026

An inspection records what was checked and what was found. It can later be shared with the customer or used to prepare an estimate for flagged items.

Before you begin

Open the correct work order. Your workshop needs an active inspection template. Recording, completing and sharing inspections are separate permissions; technician access can also depend on assigned work.

Record the findings

  1. Open the work order and select Start inspection.
  2. If Which inspection? appears, choose the checklist suited to the visit.
  3. Work through the sections. Record each checkpoint's verdict, reading and Note (optional) as appropriate.
  4. Use Pass, Attention or Fail to describe the finding. A reading can suggest a verdict; review it against what you actually observed.
  5. Associate relevant photographs with the findings where the screen allows it.
  6. Use Save to keep the inspection editable and continue later.
  7. When the record is ready, select Complete inspection and review any warning about blank checkpoints.

Completion is final for that inspection

Completing freezes the inspection. Blank checkpoints cannot be filled afterwards. Start a new inspection for a re-check rather than trying to rewrite the completed record.

Estimate from findings creates quote lines from items marked Attention or Fail. It does not price the repair for you: review the task description, hours, rate, parts and total before sharing the estimate.

Photos and EV information

The work order's Upload Photos action accepts up to ten images in one upload, each up to 8 MB. Avoid customer identity documents or unrelated personal information in photographs you may share.

For an EV visit, complete the relevant EV High-Voltage Service Checklist and use Save EV Checklist. This is a record for qualified workshop staff; the application checklist is not a substitute for the vehicle manufacturer's repair procedure or required training.

Troubleshooting

If no template is available, ask an authorised colleague to check Configuration → Inspection Templates. If there is nothing to quote, record a genuine Attention or Fail finding first. Do not mark a sound component faulty merely to enable the estimate action.
